Bald Head Island Lighthouse was built in 1817 and is North
Carolina's oldest lighthouse. Thanks to the Old Baldy
Foundation, the lighthouse is open for tours. Next to
the lighthouse is the Smith Island Museum. Inside the
museum are historic artifacts found on Bald Head Island.
Bald Head Island is accessible by private passenger ferry.
